# Accessing Bond Yields

Find bond yields across sovereign curves, individual corporate and municipal securities, and index level.

Bond yields sit in three places, depending on whether you want a whole sovereign curve, one specific security, or a market-wide index.

| You want                                                  | Go to                                                                           | Level               |
| --------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------- |
| A sovereign yield curve for a country                     | [Government Bonds](/documentation/market-data-guides/bonds/government-bonds.md) | Curve               |
| The yield on a corporate, municipal or individual bond | [Bond Comps](/documentation/market-data-guides/bonds/bond-comps.md) | Individual security |
| Where a sector, rating band or maturity bucket is trading | [iBoxx Spreads](/documentation/market-data-guides/bonds/iboxx-spreads.md) | Index |

All three sit under **Bonds** in the left-hand navigation and export through **Download**.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Know the ISIN already?** Use the **search bar at the top right** from anywhere in the app and paste it in. Results are grouped by type, so an ISIN such as `XS2583205906` returns under **Corporate Bonds** with the issuer, coupon and maturity, and takes you straight to that bond. This works across the whole bond universe, not just sovereigns.
{% endhint %}

## Sovereign Bond Yields

### 2. Open Government Bonds

Click **Bonds** and then [**Government Bonds**](https://app.bluegamma.io/bonds/gov/united-kingdom) in the left-hand sidebar.

### 3. Select a Country

Use the **country drop-down** to choose the market you want. Coverage runs to 35 sovereign markets, from US Treasuries and UK Gilts through to Brazil, Nigeria and Indonesia. The full list is on [Government Bonds](/documentation/market-data-guides/bonds/government-bonds.md).

### 4. Read the Yields

Every market shows the same core view, top to bottom:

* **Bond Yields**, a table of yields by tenor
* **End-of-Day Government Bond Yields**, a history chart with selectable periods from 1M to Max
* **Zero-coupon yield curve**, with a **Zero-coupon yields** table underneath

### 5. Analyse the Curve

How much further you can go depends on the market. Deeper markets carry more:

| Feature                                                                     | Where it appears                                  |
| --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| **Swap Spreads** and **Forward Curve** tabs | Larger markets, including US and UK |
| **Forward Start Bond** interpolation, by forward start and tenor | Larger markets, including US and UK |
| **Inflation Linked** tab | Markets with a linker programme, including the UK |
| A table of the individual bonds, with ISIN, maturity, clean price and yield | UK Gilts |

Smaller markets show the core view only. If a market you need is missing something, email <support@bluegamma.io> and we will tell you whether it is on the roadmap.

## Corporate and Other Bond Yields

### 6. Open Bond Comps

Click **Bonds** and then [**Bond Comps**](https://app.bluegamma.io/bonds/bond-comps). This is the screener for individual securities rather than sovereign curves.

### 7. Find the Bond

* **Search by ISIN, bond or issuer name** in the search box.
* Or narrow the universe with the **Issuer Type** filter: **Corporate**, **Municipal** or **Sovereign**.

### 8. Read the Yield

Each row carries **Yield (YTM)** alongside **Price**, **Spread (bp)**, **Remaining Tenor**, **Rating**, **Sector** and **Amount Outstanding**, so a bond can be read on its own or against its comparables. Every column sorts.

Use **Change time** to price the table as at a past date, and **Download** to export what you see.

{% hint style="info" %}
If a bond you need is not in the universe, click **Request a bond** on Bond Comps and submit the ISIN with an optional note. The request reaches our support team directly.
{% endhint %}

## Index-Level Yields

### 9. Open iBoxx Spreads

Click **Bonds** and then [**iBoxx Spreads**](https://app.bluegamma.io/bonds/iboxx) when you want the yield on a basket rather than a single bond.

The **Current Spreads** table carries **Yield (%)** against every index, alongside **OAS** and **Z-Spread**. Use it to see where a sector, rating band or maturity bucket is trading, and the **Historical Spreads** panel to chart how that has moved.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://www.bluegamma.io/documentation/market-data-guides/bonds/accessing-bond-yields.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
